Work History

June 2018 - current: Nike, Inc - Beaverton, OR
Lead Mobile Developer

Leading a team of immensely talented Swift developers to create and maintain features for the hugely popular Nike Run Club mobile application.

Together we have built amazing features such as Challenges, which motivates the community to run through gamification and a leaderboard. We released a shoe tagging feature that allows runnings to attribute shoes to their runs to provide additional context to how their footwear choice can influence their performance.

In addition to building and releasing great features, we have worked together to develop solid design patterns enabling the team to work quickly and swarm on features. We have worked tirelessly chasing down defects to have a crash rate that is significantly lower than the industry average.

A hands-on lead that enjoys building with the team, but I like to enable team members to lead and spread their own influence.

May 2014 - June 2018: Nike, Inc - Beaverton, OR
Sr. Mobile Developer

WatchOS and iOS feature development on Nike+ Run Club.  Continued support of the application, which has a very large user base of passionate runners.  Developed improved MVVM-style pattern for view construction within the app to improve development efficiency and increase ability to develop quality UI tests.

Making an early commitment to Swift, helped lead a team to do a ground-up rebuild of the flagship Nike+ Training Club application.  Critically involved in architecture of several foundational technologies within the app including how downloadable content is managed and published.  Guided the migration of N+TC from Swift 2.3 to Swift 3.0, deploying to market with a reduced crash rating, maintaining  high App Store rating.  Continued to support new features and development on the application, which rose to a 5 star average rating in the Apple App Store and a low 0.1% crash rate..
